The Dollar General Store project includes the construction of a single-story retail store at the southwest corner of W. Hobsonway and North Solano Avenue. The 0.79 acre site is presently vacant and consists of two parcels (APN’s 836-122-045 and 836-122-046) that will be merged into a single parcel. The parcels are zoned C-G (General Commercial) which allow for retail development. The proposal includes construction of a 9,100 square foot single story building approximately 16 feet tall. Surrounding properties include two hotels, two self-storage operations, and an Ace Hardware. Grading and construction is expected to be completed in four months.

The City of Blythe is hoping for a complete, fair and accurate count of all Blythe residents during the 2020 Census.
Large portions of Riverside County (including Blythe) have historically been hard to count or are anticipated to be less likely to respond. During the 2010 Census an average of 27.3% of Blythe residents were not counted across 7 census tracts in the City. In each tract the number of people not counted ranged from 23% up to 31.5%. This left more than a quarter of our residents unaccounted for.
For every resident that is not counted, money is left on the table for our state and local governments. Results of the Census are also used to reapportion the House of Representatives and determine how many seats each state should get.
Please help our City be accurately represented and get the funding allocations we deserve by being counted in the 2020 Census.
